Unlike two-dimensional fabrics, smartx3D uses a three-layer technology that includes two separate fabrics joined by a monofilament yarn that creates a breathable channel between the two fabrics. This channel gives smartx3D its 3D structure and generates a “microclimate” between layers. In this respirable and highly permeable environment, heat and vapor can move easily. Cool air, supplied by this natural ventilation process, pushes out the heat and vapor, allowing temperature control and maximum air circulation. The 3D construction enhances the fabric’s breathability, which in turn dissipates heat. The channel between the two layers provides a cushioned feel, offering the ultimate comfort and softness.

Through the manufacturing process, smartx3D naturally dispenses a 4-way stretch as opposed to the widely used mesh fabrics, which only provide a 2-way stretch. The 4-way stretch allows the fabric to mold the body. This envelopment process improves pressure redistribution, which in turn reduces injuries. The 4-way stretch also increases comfort by allowing the wheelchair user to immerse into the cushion. Even after numerous transfers and long-term usage, the fabric will always retain its stylish look, softness, and comfort.
